SEO audit expert

An SEO audit expert who tells you what to fix first, and what to ignore.

Automated reports produce hundreds of warnings and no direction. I review your site by hand across technical health, pages, content and links, then give you a short, ranked plan you can act on this week.

What it is

What an SEO audit expert looks for

An SEO audit is a health check for your website’s search performance. It answers three questions: what is holding my site back, how serious is each problem, and what should I do first.

Tools can list issues. They cannot tell you that 400 flagged pages are harmless while one redirect rule is quietly costing you a third of your traffic. That judgement comes from experience, and it is why I review each site by hand.

The audit covers the layers in the order they depend on each other. First the foundation, technical SEO. Then the pages, with on-page SEO. Then the targets, through keyword research, and finally the content and the links around it.

You finish with a clear document, not a data dump. You can hand it to a developer, a writer or me.

What is covered

Inside an SEO audit

Technical health

Crawling, indexing, speed, mobile, security and structured data, checked the way Google sees your site.

On-page review

Titles, headings, copy, internal links and intent match on your most important pages.

Keyword and cannibalisation check

Whether you are targeting terms you can win, and whether your own pages compete with each other.

Content review

Which pages earn their place, which need refreshing and which topics you are missing.

Backlink profile

Your authority compared with competitors, plus any links that deserve action.

AI-search readiness

How easy it is for ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews to find, understand and cite you.

Local SEO check

For businesses that serve an area: your Google Business Profile, citations, reviews and local pages, reviewed alongside everything else.

My process

How an SEO audit runs

1

Short briefing

You tell me about the business, the goals and anything that has changed recently.

2

Access and crawl

I get read access to Search Console and analytics, then crawl the site and review the data.

3

Manual review

I go through key pages and issues by hand, separating real problems from noise.

4

Ranked roadmap

Each finding is rated by impact and effort, then placed in an order that makes sense.

5

Walkthrough call

We go over it together, so you know what each item means and what to do next.

Why manual

A manual audit versus an automated report

My manual audit

  • Prioritised by real business impact
  • Explains why each issue matters
  • Checks what Google actually sees
  • Includes AI-search readiness
  • Ends with a plan and a walkthrough call

An automated report

  • ✓ Hundreds of unranked warnings
  • ✓ No context about what matters
  • ✓ Misses rendering and intent problems
  • ✓ Ignores AI search entirely
  • ✓ Leaves you to work out the next step

What follows a good audit

After the audit

What happens once you have the roadmap

You can run the plan yourself, give it to your team or ask me to carry it out. Depending on what the audit finds, that usually means technical SEO fixes, content SEO for gaps, and link building if authority is the limit.

If your concern is how you show up in ChatGPT and Gemini, I treat that as its own service. See AI SEO. For a business serving one area, the local SEO page explains the extra checks I run.

❓ Common Questions

SEO audit questions, answered plainly

What is an SEO audit?
It is a structured review of your website’s search health. It finds the technical, on-page, content and link issues limiting your rankings and ranks them by importance.
A small business site usually takes a few days. A large store or a site with a long history takes one to two weeks. I give you a timeline before I start.
Your website address, plus read-only access to Google Search Console and analytics if you have them. If you do not, I can still audit what is public.
You get a free first look at your site with the main issues I can spot. A full, in-depth audit and roadmap is scoped and quoted after I have seen what is involved.
Once a year is a good baseline, and also before a redesign or migration, after a big traffic change, and after a major Google update that hit your site.
If you want. Many clients take the roadmap and implement it themselves. Others ask me to handle the fixes, and I price that separately.
