Schema markup expert

A schema markup expert who helps search engines and AI understand exactly who you are.

Structured data is a plain-language label on your page: this is a business, this is a service, this is its author. I add markup that matches what visitors can see, validate it, and keep it consistent across the site, so machines read your pages correctly.

What it is

What a schema markup expert actually does

Schema markup is code, usually JSON-LD, that describes a page’s content in a format search engines and AI systems can read without guessing. It can say that a page is an article written by a named person, that a business offers a particular service, that a page is a product with a price, or where a page sits in your site structure.

It does not guarantee a ranking and I never promise one. What it does is remove ambiguity. That matters more now that AI assistants decide which sources to cite, because a clearly described entity is easier to trust and quote.

The rule I work by is simple: markup must describe what is really on the page. Inventing reviews, ratings or facts to chase a rich result puts a site at risk. Good markup is part of technical SEO and supports AI SEO.

Schema types

The markup I set up

Organization and Person

Who you are, where to find you and which profiles belong to you, so your brand is one clear entity.

Service

What you offer and where, matched to the visible service page.

Article and author

Named authors with credentials, publish dates and topics, which supports trust signals.

Breadcrumbs

Your page hierarchy, shown clearly in results and understood by crawlers.

Product and offers

Price, availability and details for stores, kept in step with the product page.

FAQ and how-to

Used where it is accurate and useful. Google now shows these rarely, so I add them only when they help readers or AI tools.

My process

How a schema project runs

1

Audit what exists

Plugins and themes often add overlapping or broken markup. I check what is live today.

2

Plan the entity graph

One consistent description of your business, authors and pages, linked together.

3

Write and place the markup

Hand-checked JSON-LD for each template, matched to visible content.

4

Validate

Tested in Google’s tools and a schema validator, with errors and warnings cleared.

5

Monitor

Search Console enhancement reports show whether Google reads it correctly.

Results

Clear entities, visible results

Good to know

Where schema fits

Markup supports good pages, it does not replace them. Pair it with sound on-page SEO and well-structured content SEO. If you are changing platform, include it in your site migration checklist, since themes often drop it.

❓ Common Questions

Schema markup questions, answered plainly

What is schema markup?
It is structured data added to a page that labels its content for search engines and AI tools, for example a service, an author or a product, using a shared vocabulary from schema.org.
Not directly. It helps search engines understand your pages and can make you eligible for some rich results. Its clearest value today is entity clarity.
Google rarely shows FAQ rich results now. I add it only when the questions genuinely help visitors or AI tools, never as a ranking trick.
Yes, if it describes things that are not on the page or is duplicated by several plugins. Such markup can be ignored or lead to manual action.
JSON-LD, which Google recommends. It sits separately from your page content and is easy to maintain.
Sometimes. A plugin can be a good base, but I check and correct its output, because defaults are often incomplete.
