PrestaShop SEO expert

A PrestaShop SEO expert who clears the duplicate pages and gets your products found.

PrestaShop gives small and mid-size stores a lot for free, but its default settings can create duplicate addresses, filter clutter and heavy pages from stacked modules. I clean up the structure and rebuild the pages that earn sales.

What it is

What a PrestaShop SEO expert does

PrestaShop SEO is the work of making a PrestaShop store easy for Google to crawl and for shoppers to find. The platform offers friendly URLs, a canonical redirect setting under its SEO and URL options, multi-language support and a large module ecosystem.

Where stores struggle is in how these pieces interact. Product addresses can carry category or attribute information that creates several versions of the same page. The faceted search module can generate a huge number of filter URLs. Every extra module can add scripts and styles to every page, so the store gets slow.

A PrestaShop SEO expert checks the settings, then the modules, then the pages. I decide what deserves to be indexed, fix duplicates and redirects, and rework category and product pages so they say something useful. See my ecommerce SEO page for the wider approach.

I have not published a PrestaShop case study yet. The closest proof is an organic food store in Chicago, where category and product page work grew organic traffic.

What I fix

The PrestaShop problems I fix most often

Duplicate product URLs

Several addresses for one product through categories, IDs or combinations. I settle on one clean version and make the rest follow it.

Faceted search clutter

Filter combinations kept from creating thousands of thin pages, with only valuable filters left indexable.

SEO and URL settings

Friendly URLs, canonical redirects and the shop's traffic and SEO options set up correctly and consistently.

Module weight

Modules reviewed for what they add to every page. Anything that costs more than it earns is removed or loaded later.

Category and product copy

Categories with no text and products using supplier descriptions rewritten around what shoppers want to know.

Languages and multistore

Each language or shop version set up with proper alternates, so the right one appears in each market.

Titles, meta and markup

Clean patterns for titles and descriptions, and one tidy set of product structured data.

Redirects and migrations

Redirect maps for upgrades, moves from other platforms and product or category changes.

The difference

A PrestaShop store tuned for search versus one on defaults

Defaults are made to work for everyone. Search needs more than that.

Tuned for search (what I do)

  • One address per product
  • Filters under control
  • Settings checked and consistent
  • Lean modules
  • Pages with original content

Left on defaults (what I replace)

  • ✓ Several addresses per product
  • ✓ Thousands of filter URLs
  • ✓ Mixed settings across shop versions
  • ✓ Stacked module scripts
  • ✓ Supplier text on every product

❓ Common Questions

PrestaShop SEO questions, answered plainly

Is PrestaShop good for SEO?
It can be. It has the basics in place, but a few default behaviours, especially around product URLs and filters, need attention to avoid duplicates.
Usually yes, but controlled. I decide which filters are worth indexing and keep the rest out of the index, so shoppers keep the feature and Google keeps clear signals.
Yes. I review modules, themes and images, and fix what slows down real mobile visits.
Yes. Upgrades and migrations should be planned, with a redirect map and a before-and-after check of rankings.
No. Nobody honestly can. I show you what I am changing and why, and report clicks, rankings and orders every month.
Not published yet. I will add one when a client agrees. My published store results are on the case studies page.
