Link building expert

A link building expert who earns links you will not have to apologise for later.

Links still matter, and bad ones still hurt. I earn links and mentions from relevant, real websites using methods that survive Google updates. Fewer links, better sources, and a report that shows you exactly where each one came from.

What it is

What a link building expert does, and what they should refuse to do

A link from a respected, relevant site tells Google that someone else vouches for you. It is still one of the strongest signals in search, particularly when two sites have similar content and one needs a tiebreaker.

A link building expert earns those votes. That means finding the sites your audience already reads, giving them a real reason to mention you, and following up like a person rather than a mass mailer. It is slower than buying a package and it lasts far longer.

Just as important is what I leave out. I do not use private blog networks, link farms, bulk directory submissions or paid links disguised as editorial ones. They can work briefly and then bring penalties or traffic collapses that cost far more than they ever earned.

Brand mentions matter too. AI assistants and Google lean on how often trusted sources discuss a company, so I build mentions as well as links. See my AI SEO work for how that plays out.

What I do

The link building methods I use

Digital PR and newsworthy content

Original data, comments and stories that journalists and bloggers want to cite.

Resource and curated pages

Getting your best page added to genuinely useful lists and guides in your industry.

Unlinked brand mentions

Sites that already mention you without linking. A polite message often turns them into links.

Partnerships and guest contributions

Useful articles for relevant publications, written for their readers, not stuffed with links.

Competitor link analysis

Where your competitors are being linked from, and which of those doors are open to you too.

Backlink clean-up

Spotting the few harmful links worth acting on, without panicking over every low-quality one.

My rules

What I do versus what I never do

What I do

  • Earn links from relevant, real sites
  • Use descriptive, natural anchor text
  • Share every link source in the report
  • Build mentions alongside links
  • Prioritise a few strong links over many weak ones

What I never do

  • ✓ Private blog networks
  • ✓ Bulk profile or directory links
  • ✓ Paid links dressed as editorial
  • ✓ Exact-match anchors on every link
  • ✓ Promise a fixed number of links per month
My process

How a link building project runs

1

Review your link profile

I check what you have, what is harmful and how you compare with the sites you want to beat.

2

Choose the pages to promote

Links work best when they point to pages that deserve them and can convert the visitors they bring.

3

Find the right sites

A hand-built list of relevant publications, creators and directories worth approaching.

4

Reach out like a person

Short, specific messages that say why the link helps their readers. No templates sent to thousands.

5

Report every link

You see each link, its source and its target page, so nothing is hidden.

Link building plans

Monthly link building plans, no link farms

Links work best on a healthy site

Links amplify what is already there. If your site has crawling or speed problems, technical SEO comes first. If your pages do not match what people search for, fix that with on-page SEO and content SEO.

Choosing the right pages to promote starts with keyword research, and an SEO audit will tell you whether links are really your bottleneck.

❓ Common Questions

Link building questions, answered plainly

What is link building?
It is the work of earning links from other websites to yours. Search engines treat relevant links from trusted sites as a recommendation, which helps your pages rank.
Yes, when it is done well. Links remain a strong ranking signal, especially in competitive markets. Low-quality links are not worth it and can do harm.
I do not promise a number, because quantity is the wrong goal. A few relevant, editorial links are worth more than dozens of weak ones. You see exactly what was earned each month.
No. Paid placements that pass ranking signals break Google’s guidelines. Where a placement is sponsored, it is labelled and treated as exposure rather than a ranking tactic.
I can review your profile and deal with the small number that are truly harmful. Most low-quality links are ignored by Google and need no action.
Typically one to three months after a link is placed and discovered. Competitive terms take longer.
