The result at a glance

The numbers below come from the client’s own Google Search Console. They compare the last three months with the previous three months, web search only.
Metric Previous 3 months Last 3 months Change
Total clicks 989 1.76K about +78%
Total impressions 51.5K 96.6K about +88%
Average CTR 1.9% 1.8% about the same
Average position 9.8 8.9 0.9 places higher
Percentages are worked out from the rounded numbers Search Console shows, so treat them as “about”.

What the numbers mean

More people saw the site. Impressions almost doubled. The site appeared in far more searches. More people clicked. Clicks grew by about 78%. That is real visits, not just visibility. The average position improved. It moved from 9.8 to 8.9, which puts the average inside the top 10. CTR stayed flat. This is normal when impressions grow quickly. New searches often bring more lower-ranked appearances, so the click rate holds steady instead of rising.

Visibility in Google’s AI features

Travel and Hotel SEO Case Study Germany Search Console now has a beta report for Google’s generative AI features. An impression here means a link to the site was shown inside one of these AI features.
Metric Previous 3 months Last 3 months
AI features impressions 2.45K 8.04K
One caution. In the chart, the line for the earlier period covers fewer days than the line for the last three months. So the two totals are not like for like. Per day, the picture is still clear. The site had about 45 AI-feature impressions a day before and about 87 a day now. That is roughly double. These daily averages are my estimate from the chart.

The starting point

The client is a travel and hotel business in Germany. Travel search is crowded. Large booking platforms and hotel chains hold many of the top places. The site already had some visibility before I joined. The previous three months show 989 clicks and 51.5K impressions. I began work about two months ago. So the last three months include one month before my work and two months after it started.

What I am working on

The work is ongoing. Nearly every part of it is still running. Technical SEO. I keep the site healthy so search engines can crawl, understand and index it well. See my technical SEO work. On-page and semantic SEO. I improve pages around clear topics, related terms and entities, so each page says exactly what it is about. I explain the idea in what is semantic SEO. AI SEO. I prepare the content and structure for AI search tools, not only classic results. See AI SEO. Topic clustering. I group the content into clusters of related pages that link to each other. This builds depth on each subject. Read about topical authority.

What I learned so far

It is still early. Two months is a short time. I expect the picture to change, and I will update this page as the work continues. AI visibility is worth watching. The AI features report shows a part of search that classic reports do not. One site is not a promise. These results are for this site only. Yours depends on your market, your competitors and your starting point.
